If you ever find yourself in Dickeyville, Iowa, set aside a few minutes for a roadside attraction: the Dickeyville Grotto. If you’ve never seen a grotto before, it’s an odd, amazing, and even eerie stop. Reportedly built between 1925 and 1931, the grotto is located near the Holy Ghost Church.
The grotto is comprised largely of junk glass and concrete. Photo by Charish Badzinski.
