Introducing: The Rollerbag Goddess Brand

Attention, fellow Rollerbaggers and Wanderers: we have an announcement to make.

Over the years, we’ve covered a lot of ground together. We’ve traveled to 40 countries and we’ve shared the experience with you in more than 225,000 words! Whew. That is so incredible, we just don’t even know what to do with ourselves. It’s like the equivalent of three novels. And nearly 1/4 of the globe. We are over the moon!

But, that’s not all!

It’s taken months, and the dedicated efforts of an extremely talented group of people, and at last the big day is here.

Today, we’re celebrating the new Rollerbag Goddess Global Communications brand.

But first, a little stroll back in time. A moonwalk, if you will.

Last year we started working with a marketing, communications and branding consultant, DJJC, as well as a talented artist, RollerbagMom. We determined it was time to bring all of our writing services under a single brand.

And with that, Rollerbag Goddess Global Communications was born.

So much has happened behind the scenes since then.

From there, we:

  • upgraded our WordPress plan
  • secured the domains we needed
  • eliminated the crappy advertising that intruded on our site and our emails
  • rewrote and redesigned our entire website
  • and ramped up our search engine optimization (SEO), social media, earned media and content strategies

Meanwhile, RollerbagMom went to the drawing board to develop a logo concept. (Insert Jeopardy theme song.)

You may not know this, but in addition to being an awesome human being and a great Mom, RollerbagMom is an extremely talented artist. I’ve been in awe of her talent my whole life. She also knows and appreciates this travel blog and has been a constant source of inspiration and encouragement–not to mention a great travel companion. So it made sense to ask her to develop the visual identity for our brand. She knows us. She loves us. She completes us.

So, she sketched out her ideas. And we were thrilled.

The excitement was building!

Next step was to fine tune the logo. RollerbagMom imported it into her computer and did some incredible handiwork. She did this without any design software. Amazing!

Initially, we thought it would be cool to have our name in an arc over our brave traveler.

But as you will see, we soon changed our minds.

It was time for some finessing, with the help of a super talented graphic artist, BeachWineDesignGirl. I’ve worked with this Wonder Woman for a lifetime, it seems, and she is an incredibly gifted graphic artist. We are so fortunate to partner with her! She gave us so many options to choose from. But these were the first three to start.

One logo clearly stood out from the rest. It required us to take things in a different direction than we’d initially thought, but as in travel, sometimes the unexpected turns we take are the best.

With a little further fine-tuning of our traveler and the rollerbag image itself, and some additional consideration given to font, tagline, and all of the other myriad pieces that go into this…at last we landed on our final concept.

Our traveler is strong, bold, and brave. She is all of us. She looks ahead with the kind of tenacity we admire. And she is ready to take on the world.

We love her. And we love the many incarnations we’ll be using, moving forward.

For our blog and website promotion, we’ll use the logo above.

In addition to thoughtful travel essays and travel blogging, we are committed to putting powerful storytelling to work for our clients. So for our parent company, Rollerbag Goddess Global Communications, and the writing services we provide, we’ll use this logo.

We’ll also, at times, incorporate our tagline: Powerful Storytelling.

And when we’ve tried and tested traveler spots around the globe, we’ll give businesses a sign or sticker to show the world that they’re Rollerbag Goddess approved. Because our blog posts are never sponsored and have no affiliate links, you can rest assured when you see this logo, they’ve been objectively reviewed, and you are supporting a Rollerbag Goddess Approved business.

That’s our big news and we are so excited to finally be able to share it with you. A big, Rollerbag Goddess thank you to BeachWineDesignGirl, RollerbagMom, DJJC, BackpackMr, our family and all others who provided input along the way! We absolutely could not have done it without you.

It’s exciting, and it’s just the start of an amazing journey ahead!
