Several tour companies in Chicago offer Segway tours. If you’ve never taken a ride on a Segway before, it can be a lot of fun. Tour companies offer a brief training session, where you learn how to control the speed and direction of your Segway–primarily with your feet!
After just a few minutes on a Segway, I wanted one of my own. Sadly, most cities do not allow Segways on the streets or sidewalks, outside of tours like this one.
Segway tours offer a refreshing way to see a good portion of the heart of the city, without the wear and tear on your tootsies.
Fair warning: one member of our party took a spill and skinned his knee, so drive with care, and be sure wear your helmet.
